661,643. Universal and slipping couplings. MORTON, S. Nov. 14, 1949 [Nov. 19, 1948], No. 29098/49. Class 80 (ii). A shaft coupling comprises driving and driven members 17, 20 and an interposed rubber rubber composition or rubber and fabric composition sleeve 25 pressed on and/or bonded to the member 20 and having radial projections 26 drivingly engaging shallow rectangular or curved recesses 27 in the other member 17, out of which they deform on overload. The sleeve 25 may alternatively be carried by the member 17 and its radially inward projections engage recesses in the member 20.
