Abstract
661,569. Alternators. C.A.V., Ltd. Jan. 16, 1950 [Feb. 3, 1949], No. 2978/49. Class 35. An alternator of the type having stationary generating winding and D.C. excitation comprises a plurality of field structures arranged coaxially on the same shaft a and energized by two or more annular exciting windings g. An iron disc c having polepieces d is placed between two iron sleeves b fixed to the shaft a. To each outer end of the sleeve b there is fixed a disc e having polepieces f extending axially inwards so as to imbricate with the polepieces d. The exciting windings g are carried on sleeves b between the polepieces. The polarity of all the polepieces d is the same but opposite to that of the polepieces f.
