Abstract
589,039. Inductor alternators. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and WALKER, J. H. May 24, 1944, No. 9994. [Class 35] Each exciting pole of an inductor alternator wound for 3 or more phases is subdivided into polepieces equal in number to the phases, each carrying a winding of one phase, and the inductor projections are equal in number and spacing to the exciting poles. In the form shown, the three subdivisions 7 of each pole carry windings 8, the winding of one phase being in series or parallel with the winding of the same phase on the other pole; 5, 6 being the exciting coils of a two-pole, three-phase machine. Specification 26303/96, [Class 35], is referred to.
