661,140. Hydroplane vessels. AKTIEBOLAGET SUPERMARIN. Sept, 14, 1949, No. 23744/49. Class 113 (ii). In a dynamically supported water-craft with a hull 1 rising clear of the water and having a dynamic sustaining system comprising at least one hydrofoil 3 preferably having a lateral stabilizing effect of its own and being located such that the upwardly directed resultant force of the system is located aft of the centre of gravity G of the craft, and a stabilizer 4 spaced from the hull and located forwardly of the centre of gravity, the stabilizer has a central portion forming at least one planing face 5 adapted at normal speed to rest on the surface of the water, and lateral portions the lower faces 7 of which extend above the water level when said central portion is resting thereon.
