Abstract
854,292. Catamarans. MANNERS, E. J. Aug. 24, 1959 [May 22, 1958], No. 16528/58. Class 113. The hull members of a catamaran are asymmetrical in cross section and the bottom A is upwardly inclined in an outboard direction so that when the craft is heeled so that a hull is just clear of the water the bottom of the immersed hull is approximately horizontal and the outboard side C, which is substantially planar, is vertical. The hulls may be fixed to the raised decking B in a manner permitting adjustment of the angles of dihedral and incidence of the planing bottoms A, A. The cockpit may take the form of a third hull disposed between the outer hulls and extending partly below or wholly above the water line.
