Abstract

661,019. Manually-actuated valves; nozzles. GASKELL & CHAMBERS, Ltd. Oct. 13, 1949 [Oct. 25, 1948] No. 27661/48. Classes 69 (iii) and 135. A tap for dispensing beer, &c. and of the kind comprising a slidable closure member actuated by a spring-loaded, spherically-pivoted lever n and having a hard rubber, &c. seating portion k which coacts with an annular seat in the valve body, has a rotatable tapered bush g, ported at i, which provides the annular seat and which, by part-rotary adjustment, varies the rate of flow of liquid through the tap. The bush g, has an operating handle h. A passage 4 obviates the trapping of liquid behind the slidable member j. The outlet d of the tap is fitted with a plug e to provide an annular discharge opening, and a cap f on which the plug is mounted has a ring of discharge holes round the plug.
