Abstract
658,305. Drying-apparatus. BIRMING- HAM & BLACKBURN CONSTRUCTION CO., Ltd. Feb. 15, 1949, No. 4077. [Class 34(ii)] A drying stove comprises a cabinet L having an inner drying chamber 2 spaced from the outer casing 3 of the cabinet. A series of tubes 6 having perforated undersides and arranged traversely in the chamber 2 open into air ducts, four sets of tubes forming a tray support. The bottom 8 of the chamber is perforated and so communicates with spaces 9, 9a. A fan 11 driven by an electric motor blows air through an electric heater 12 and into the space 4 above the chamber 2 whence it is deflected by baffles into the side ducts and so into the tubes 6. Leaving the tube 6 the hot air passes over the material to be dried, is extracted through the perforated bot-- tom 8 and returns to the fan via spaces 9a, 9 and duct 14 to be recirculated. Air may be exhausted through a pipe 16 (not shown), fresh air being drawn in through an inlet 15. The quantity of air delivered by the fan can be regulated by a damper.
