Abstract

653,794. Drying in electric or magnetic fields. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. April 17, 1947, No. 10215. Convention date, April 25, 1946. [Classes 34(i) and 34(ii)] [Also in Group XI] Printed sheets &c. of substantial width are dried by being passed through a number of pairs of conducting plates forming capacitors. the capacitors being connected in series across a high frequency electrical source. In the embodiment plates 20-23 and 24-27 are placed on opposite sides of a web 28, each plate having a length equal to twice its width. High frequency power from a source 29 is connected to plates 27, the current passing in two paths, one from the source to plates 26, 21, 24, 20 and 27, back to the source, and the other from the source to plates 26, 22, 25, 23 and 27 back to the source.
