Abstract

652,599. Windows. BUGGE, C. VAN DER P., and FREUDENBERG, I. L. Dec. 24, 1946, No. 7081/50. Divided out of 641,419 under which a Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, July 10, 1947. [Class 20(iii)] One leaf 3 of a hinge is secured to the outer edge of one of the vertical side members of sliding sashes 9, 10 and the other leaf 4 of each hinge is formed with a dovetail 7 which is slidably mounted in a corresponding recess along the inner face of one of the vertical side members of the stationary case 2 whereby the sashes may both slide in a vertical plane and swing about vertical pivots. The other edges of the sashes may be guided at 14<SP>1</SP> and locked at 11<SP>1</SP>, 12' to the stationary case. The sashes are counterbalanced, at least in part, by weights hung on cords &c. passing over pulleys 18 and connected to the dovetail projections 7. The part of the frame supporting one sash is substantially narrower than the part supporting the other sash so that each sash may turn through approximately 90 degrees without interference from the other.
