Abstract
651,481. Reservoir pens. CIA URUGUAYA DE FOMENTO INDUSTRIAL SOC. ANON. Jan. 26, 1948, No. 2256. [Class 146 (iii)] An ink reservoir for a ball-point pen comprises a non-capillary part 5, an ink channel 4 which is capillary at least adjacent to the part 5, and an air inlet 6 of capillary size, the volume of the air inlet being related to the volume of the part 5 in accordance with a given formula so that leakage of ink through the air inlet due to variations in temperature and atmosphere pressure do not occur. The ball-housing 2 may be a push-fit or screwed into the end of the reservoir which may be made of an artificial resin. A casing 7, 8 with a vented closure 9 encloses the reservoir the air inlet 6 of which is held in place by a sleeve 10 or a surrounding spring. The air inlet may lead to an air chamber enclosed in a flaccid bag as described in Specification 602,101. Specifications 564,172, 571,698, 573,747, 609,817, 629,283 and 651,509 also are referred to.
