<PICT:0643626/III/1> A moistener for envelopes, stamps and gummed labels comprises, in the form of a pen-holder, an upper and a lower socket connected by a screw. A rotatable cylinder 1 fixed on axle 2 is set in the aperture of the lower socket 5 which contains absorbent material 4 such as sponge, cotton or felt. This is connected to a water supply in a rubber tube 7 contained in the socket 8 and against which a press 9, connected to a clip 10, is inserted, by means of which the absorbent material and the cylinder are moistened.
