Abstract
651,010. Door stops. OLSFANGER, B., and LEAN, J. H. April 6, 1948, No. 9602. [Class 65(i)] A stop device for mounting on a door comprises a vertical bar 19 having a resilient foot 27 biassed by the spring 30 out of engagement with the floor, and is operable by means of the handle 4. The stop device may work in conjunction with a latch bolt, the projection 10 of the cam 8 operating the latch bolt 6 when the handle is turned in the direction B and the projection 12 depressing the bar 19 through the L-shaped part 16 when the handle is turned in the direction C. The stop is held in the depressed position by the engagement of the projection 12 in the detent 31 on the part 16. The bar 19 may be in two sections 23, 24 with a spring 25 therebetween to act as a lostmotion device, the spring 30 being substantially weaker than the spring 25. The section 24 slides in the double angle bracket 20 and is fitted with a cross-pin 29 or which the spring 30 bears upwardly.
