650,881. Agglomerating fuel. C. D. PATENTS, Ltd. Oct. 26, 1948, No. 26588/47. [Class 50] An aqueous slurry or sludge of carbonaceous material is intimately mixed with an emulsion or dispersion of an inorganic binder, agglomeration of the disperse phase then being effected and water reboved mechanically as by pressure filtration or centrifuging. A coagulent such as alum or aluminium sulphate may efiect or assist agglomeration. The carbonaceous material may comprise coal washing or path flotation slurries and the binder sodium silicates, fusible glazes, glasses or alkali and silica combinations may be used. The product may be briquetted and carbonized. Specifications 14211/39 (as open to inspection under Sect. 91), 155,875, 189,220, 189,221, 216,948, 234,885, [all in Class 50), and 458,486 are referred to.
