Abstract
648,662. Lamp caps. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Nov. 2,1948, No. 28431. Convention date, Nov. 5,1947. [Class 38 (i)] A base 10 for a tubular lamp 1 having a closed configuration, comprises a split sleeve, whose parts 11, 12 are provided with end recesses 19 for the lamp ends 2, 3, and a circumferential slot 24 from which project the contact pins 25, 26 carried by a cylindrical member 13 rotatable within the sleeve within limits defined by the slot, while the sleeve is prevented from rotating by a protuberance on a lamp end engaging in a recess 20 in the sleeve part 11. The pins 25, 26 are connected in pairs to flexible leads which project from the lamp ends and the pairs are isolated by a partition 32 on the member 13 which has a protrusion 28 on which the pins 25, 26 are mounted. Dowel pins 18 are provided on the sleeve part 11 to align it with the part 12, both parts being retained on the lamp by spring clips 14, 15. Specifications 560,244 and 628,535 are referred to.
