Abstract
646,418. X-ray tubes. CORDINGLY, N. C., and NEWTON VICTOR, Ltd. Oct. 8, 1948, No. 26313. [Class 39 (i)] An X-ray tube has a rotating anode 3 secured to a carrier 4 carried in a bearing housing 10 which engages a ring 12 secured to the re-entrant end 20 of the tube, the ring 12 being extended into a sealed cap 22 forming an extension of the envelope 1, so that the whole of the anode assembly can be inserted in the tube from the cathode end. The ring 12 is preferably externally oil-cooled, and the cap 22 is preferably of non-magnetic material and also oil-cooled externally.
