645,729. Labelling-machines. TRIGGS, W. W. (National Bread Wrapping Machine Co:). May 28, 1948; No: 14505. [Class 73] The thermoplastic surface of a label 1 is softened by direct contact with the face of a heated shoe 4. The label is moved over the face by a pad 5 carried by a rotating shaft 8 and is thereby fed and applied to an article 17 moving on a conveyer 18. The pads 5 carried by levers. 10 rockably mounted at 11 are outwardly urged by springs 16 to press the labels against the shoe face and against the articles but are retracted by a fixed cam 15 during their inoperative periods.
