Abstract
644,948. Electromagnetic switches. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. May 19, 1948, No. 13499. [Class 38(v)] [Also in Group XVIII] In a relay responsive to impulses of a particular frequency the oscillating element is returned to its rest position by magnetic control instead of by a spring or gravity. In the form shown an astatic pair of permanent magnets 19, 20 are mounted on a spindle 16 and are restored to a rest position by an adjustable annular permanent magnet 28, or alternatively by a variably-energized electro-magnet, which acts on the magnet 19. The relay coils are wound on a former 11 and influence the magnet 20. Specification 518,877 is referred to.
