643,257. Domestic sifters. LEWIS, M. B. G. Sept. 27, 1948, No. 25134. [Class 117] A riddling device comprises a riddle-box 10 having a handle 13 and a supporting structure, e.g. in the form of a collar or sleeve 1 fitting within the mouth of the bin and providing a pair of parallel runners or rails 3 extending across the collar for guides or flanges 12 on the riddle-box which can be seated on such rails with its handle 13 projecting from the collar 1 through an open-topped aperture or slot 14 in the wall thereof. A bearing 17 may be formed at the bottom of the slot 14. The rails 3 project at the periphery of the collar 1 so as to rest on the rim of the dustbin. The riddle-box may have parallel side walls from the top edges of which the flanges 12 project. Alternatively the supporting structure may be provided externally with a pair of spaced horizontal flanges 22, 23, Fig. 4, between which the handle of the riddle-box projects outwardly through the aperture 14 the lower flange 23 being adapted to rest on the rims of bins of differing sizes while the upper flange 22 serves to support the lids of such dustbins.
