Abstract
811,595. Spouts for containers. METAL BOX CO. Ltd. Sept. 25, 1957 [Oct. 10, 1956], No. 30920/56. Class 66. A dispensing spout, preferably of plastic material, having in its base 1 an opening 2 from which a lip 4 extends upwards and outwards, the base 1 overlying the top 8 of a container on which it rotates so opening or closing an opening 13 therein, is characterized by a spigot 9 offset from the opening 2 and extending up through a hole in the container top, the spigot 9 having a lateral protuberance 10 spaced from the base 1 and co-operating therewith to keep the spout in position on the container. The spigot 9 is so placed relative to the container that the lip 4 extends beyond the edge 14 of the container top when the openings 2 and 13 are aligned.
