Abstract
642,366. Scaffold clamps. KWIKFORM, Ltd. Dec. 19, 1945, No. 21212/46. Divided out of 642,367. [Class 20(ii)] A scaffold clamp comprises a U-shaped body 76 with its connecting part 80 thicker than its limbs 77 to provide a sufficient length of screw thread, and a clamping screw 82 by which the ledger 29 and the putlog 46 are clamped together against the narrowed ends 79 of the limbs. The limbs 77 and the connecting part 80 may be made separately and joined by riveting over lugs 89 formed on the part 80, or by welding. The inner end of the clamping screw 82 is connected rotatably to a plate 85 shaped to engage the ledger 29, the end of the screw being riveted over in the recess 87. The limbs 77 are flattened at 88 so that a flush surface is presented to battens &c. placed above the clamp. Specifications 581,429 and 642,367 are referred to.
