Abstract
639,635. Boots &c. TARLOW, I. Feb. 20, 1948, No. 5118. Convention date, Sept. 18, 1944. [Class 17 (ii)] A shoe has an insole 12 with fastenings 16 spaced longitudinally on the under surface. A stretchable and resilient sheet-like filler 11 has complementary fastenings 17 spaced closer together than the fastenings 16 so that, when the insole and filler are attached, the filler is under tension, and tends to keep the insole flat. A similar interlining layer 21 at the vamp, e.g. of sponge rubber, may be cemented to the upper 13 or lining 22 under tension to maintain the shape of the forepart of the upper and to relieve pressure on the foot.
