674,588. Fitting shoes. LELYVELD, J. Aug. 11, 1950, No. 20011/50. Classes 17 (ii) and 17 (iii). A shoe has its upper a made of connected pieces of transparent flexible, stretchable and contractable sheet plastic, e.g. vinyl plastics, and has toe and heel stiffeners f, g of rigid transparent material, e.g. moulded cellulose acetate or cellulose nitrate, inserted between the upper and lining to prevent the upper contracting and deforming after its stretching during lasting. The shoe can be of welted construction as shown, or of other construction, and is made as a duplicate of stock shoes so that the fit can be clearly seen with the foot flexed.
