636,969. Bearings. COMBUSTION ENGINEERING CO., Inc. Sept. 24, 1947, No. 25925. Convention date, Oct. 4, 1946. [Class 12 (i)] In a journal for mill rollers of the type described in Specification 460,867, [Group II], comprising a sleeve 17 which carries a roller and rotates about a fixed shaft, and a bushing 22 fitted within the sleeve 17, the protruding end of the bushing 22 is enlarged in diameter to form a recess 48 so that the bushing 22 is out of contact with the shaft in the region beyond the contacting wall of the sleeve 17. By this arrangement, side thrusts on the sleeve 17 are not transmitted to the unsupported portion of the bushing 22.
