Abstract
635,663. Internal-combustion turbines. CRAFT, D. Jan. 22, 1948, No. 1912. [Class 110(iii)] An internal combustion turbine comprises a circular arrangement of combustion cylinders K, Fig. 4, with pistons M re ciprocated by a cam A on the shaft C. The cylinders terminate in chambers E which are opened and closed by the passage over their exits of a ported ring G which forms the turbine rotor. The ring G has a number of sloping passages I, Fig. 2, which open to the chambers E when the outer ends of the passages are closed by the casing wall and then, when the inner ends are closed by the ring G, they open to discharge ports F.
