Abstract
635,153. Steam injectors. NATHAN MANUFACTURING CO. July 11, 1947, No. 18538. Convention date, Sept. 25, 1942. [Class 71] In a steam injector of the type wherein the water feed pipe 13 has two check valves in series, one adjacent the boiler and the other 20 adjacent the injector delivery, formed as a chamber 19a, the valve 20 is shunted by a supplementary check valve 24 which is biassed by a spring 26 so as to open oppositely to the valve 20 when the injector is stopped to allow equalization of hydrostatic pressure on both sides of the valve 20. In a modification the valve 24 with its spring 26 is housed in a casing separate from the valve 20.
