Abstract
158,226. Schwartz, R. Jan. 23, 1920, [Convention date]. Giffard injectors.-Relates to injectors for feeding water to boilers against a pressure greater than that of the steam employed as inducing fluid, and consists in reducing shocks due to eddies in the delivery cone 3 by arranging a closed space 4 in communication with the delivery cone, preferably within the first half thereof, or at the mid-point. The space shown is annular and communicates with the cone either by an annular opening 5 or by a series of channels or perforations. The steam nozzle 1 and combining cone 2 are also shown.
