Abstract
634,347. Saxophones &c. MARTIN BAND INSTRUMENT CO. Sept. 24, 1947, No. 25977. Convention date, Feb. 23, 1945. [Class 88 (ii)] In a saxophone or like musical instrument, Fig. 1, a detachable valve-guard 10 is of open framework form and carries a plurality of knobs 15. Each knob 15 has a cylindrical hole 16, Fig. 3, with a shoulder 17, and fits over a post 12 with a shoulder 13 fixed to the body of the instrument. Each post 12 is internally screw-threaded at 14 and receives a screw 18 whose head 19 engages the shoulder 17 and holds the knob 15 in place against the shoulder 13. The guard 10 is preferably of springy material.
