Abstract

633,246. Pallets for handling loads. RIVETT, C. Feb. 5, 1948, No. 3428. [Class 78 (iv)] A pallet for handling loads comprises a deck or platform having two sets of legs so that its height from the ground may be varied. The legs may be mounted on opposite sides of the pallet or, as shown, the legs f, g may be welded to plates e pivoted to bracket plates d on the platform so that either set of legs may be used. A removable locking pin holds the plate e in the chosen position, and the plates e may pivot independently or transverse shafts on the deck may couple the plates in pairs. One or both sets of legs may be adjustable in height as are the legs g shown, and the legs may be of loop formation to permit the attachment of lifting tackle. Holes d<SP>1</SP> may be provided in the brackets d for attachment of slings. The pallet shown comprises upper and lower decks a, b spaced apart and strengthened by channel or other spacing members c.
