Abstract

632,747. Electric radiators and cooking- stoves. HANNAH, E. T. G. Aug. 12, 1947, No. 22347. [Class 39(iii)] An electric radiator comprises a hollow casing with movable heating elements 8 arranged such that they may automatically be moved from an opening at the front of the casing to a position beneath an upper hot plate 1 when the opening is closed by a movable shutter 12. The closing of the opening also displaces a pivoted arcuate reflector 18 from a position rearwardly of the heating elements to a position adjacent the opening to increase the heating space within the casing if operating as a cooker. An oven door is at the back of the casing. When the heating elements are below the hot plate, the central elements may be switched off if a low heating temperature is desired. An external terminal box is rotatable with the heating elements to obviate the need for pliable supply wires within the casing.
