Abstract
894,711. Casings. SIMPLEX ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. March 25, 1959 [March 25, 1958], No. 9476/58. Class 126. A cooking stove with an oven between the hob and the base of the cooker has a sheet metal body comprising side panels having front and rear flanges transverse to the planes of the panels in combination with front and rear panel members, offset vertically from each other and having flanges secured to the stiffened margins of the side panels, the front and rear panel members being joined to each other internally of the body, at a position spaced from the upper and lower ends of the body, to form a stepped assembly. As shown, Fig. 1, a front panel member 38 and rear panel member 22 offset vertically from each other are secured to channel section margins 17, 18 of side panels 10 by means of flanges 39, 26 respectively. The member 38 forms a surround for an oven 30 which is secured by means of a flange 36 to a member 23 integral with the member 22. Also integral with the member 22 are a base member 21 and front member 20. A housing 41 for control devices may be supported between the channel section margin 18 and a warming drawer (not shown) with optional heating means housed between the oven and the base member 21.
