[Class 81 (ii)] [Also in Group XXII] In a straight chuck handpiece the rotatable chuck socket 8 extends beyond the non-rotatable part of the casing 9 so as to allow the use of the shortshanked drills normally used with contra-angle handpieces. A swarf thrower ring 10 may be formed on the outside of the chuck. The chuck may be either of the jaw type for use with parallel shanked drills or tapered to receive the conical drills described in Specification 632,537.
