Abstract

631,588. Automatic gain control. SPERRY GYROSCOPE CO., Inc. July 29, 1943, No. 27983/45. Convention date, July 30, 1942. Divided out of 631,587. [Classes 40 (v) and 40 (vi)] Signals, which may be rectified radar pulses as described in Specification 631,587, are applied to the control grid of a first valve 4 connected in series with a resistance 6 and a second valve 7. Any change in input intensity varies the current in resistance 6 and thus changes the bias over lead 9 on the control grid of tube 7. This control is effective in the opposite sense to restore equilibrium in the circuit but the voltage on the cathode of tube 7 is changed and this voltage is applied over lead 10 to the receiver 1, for example, direct to the screen grid of an amplifier.
