Abstract

631,486. Pivots. PHILBECK CORPORATION. May 14, 1947, No. 13006. Convention date, Oct. 16, 1946. [Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group XIV] A pivot for shears (see Group XIV) comprises in one form, a barrel-shaped sleeve 13 situated within tapered bushes 12, 12<SP>1</SP> formed in channel-shaped members 9 carrying the cutting-blades. A screw 24 passing through a flanged sleeve and through the barrel 13 enters a split, internally-threaded member 19 provided with a flange 17 having a dowel pin for preventing rotation. Fig 8 shows a modification in which a plain sleeve 30 is mounted between plain bushing members 31, 31<SP>1</SP> between which a washer 32 prevented from rotating by a pin 33 is interposed.
