Abstract

1,147,752. Bearings. SILENTBLOC Ltd. 26 July, 1966 [30 April, 1965], No. 18323/65. Heading F2A. A bearing assembly comprises an outer member 1, Fig. 1, having one or more bushes 4 of non-metallic moulded material, such as polyurethane, keyed or bonded thereto; and an inner member 2, having an integral flange 3 at each end thereof. The bushes 4 are provided with angularly-spaced axially-extending oil-grooves 6 and flanges 5 having annular ribs 6A which engage the flanges 3 of the inner member 2. In a modification, the bushes 5 are provided with radially-inwardly directed ribs 8, Fig. 2, and enlarged bore portions 9, which prevent radial stresses being applied to the flanges 5.
