Abstract
630,565. Gun mountings. ZBROJOVKA BRNO, NARODNI PODNIK. Aug. 2, 1946, No. 23087. Convention date, March 28, 1941. [Class 92 (i)] [Also in Group XXIV] Relates to gun mountings of the kind wherein the devices for elevating a gun A and for securing it in its elevated position are housed in the tubes 2, 3, of the undercarriage and are operated by hand-operating elements at the rear ends of the tubes. According to the invention, elevation is effected by rotation of a shaft 15 in the tube 3, the end of the shaft carrying a pinion 14 which meshes with teeth of an elevating pin 9 connected to the gun, and the shaft being rotated by a sleeve 16 mounted on the tube 3 and movable to two positions to vary the drive between the sleeve and shaft [see Group XXIV]. In the other tube 2 is a shaft 33 which when rotated moves axially by reason of a screw and nut connection 36, 36<SP>1</SP>, the end of the shaft being adapted to engage and move a lug 13 on a slotted sleeve 12. This sleeve is mounted in a tube 8 of the undercarriage and surrounds the pin 9, the movement of the lug 13 by the shaft 33 serving to clamp the pin and thereby to lock the gun at the desired elevation.
