(i)] The plain cylindrical carrying rollers 3, 4 between a crankpin 1 and a connecting-rod small end 2 are spaced by distance rollers 5. A .cage 6 of U-section has peripheral apertures 7 for the carrying rollers 3, 4 and bridge portions 8 for the distance rollers 5, which are of a diameter that added to the thickness of the cage material is equal to the diameter of the carrying rollers 3, 4, and their axes lie substantially on, or slightly towards the bearing axis of, the plane between the axes of the adjacent carrying rollers. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also distance rollers having flanges running in grooves in the crankpin, which flange portion is ten times the diameter of that portion spacing the carrying rollers.
