Abstract
626,430. Electrodeposition of rhodium. MOND NICKEL CO., Ltd., and REID, F. H. Aug. 19, 1947, No. 23023. [Class 41] A process for the electrodeposition of rhodium on to metal with the use of an electrolyte containing rhodium sulphate, rhodium phosphate or a mixture thereof, and sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid or a mixture thereof comprises the addition to the electrolyte of lead in a concentration of from .001 to .02 grams per litre. The lead is added in the form of an acid-soluble compound, for example the nitrate or acetate. The operating temperature varies from room temperature to 60 C., though it is usually kept at 35 to 40 C. The higher temperature and higher concentrations of lead should not be used together.
