Abstract
625,179. Cooling discharge apparatus. M-O VALVE CO., Ltd., ANDREWS, D., and WINDSOR, L. R. E. Feb. 17, 1947, No. 4537. [Class 39 (i)] A radiator 3 for cooling an electric discharge device, as for example a transmitting valve 1, having a frusto-conical portion 10 and an anode 2, comprises four concentric copper tubes 4, 5, 6 and 7 surrounding the anode 2 and forming passages which are provided with cooling fins 8, Fig. 2, the inner tube 4 having a flared extension 9 so that the flow of fluid from the ends of adjacent passages has an extractor effect on the fluid in the inner passage. Flared extensions may be provided on more than one of the tubes, being progressively shorter and of smaller angle of flare away from the inner tube.
