Abstract
622,590. Mixing apparatus. HUYBREGHS, E. J. G. March 31, 1947, No. 8640. Convention date, April 8, 1946. [Class 86] An agitator or mixing stirrer for viscous liquids, pasty materials &c. comprises a disc c provided on one or both surfaces with vanes d. The disc c is concave so that its greater thickness is at the periphery, so that as it is rotated about its axis b material is thrown off in a direction which becomes tangential to the walls of the container a. The vanes d may be of decreasing height as shown, or of uniform height or of increasing height from the centre to the periphery. The disc may be mounted vertically, horizontally or obliquely.
