Abstract
621,546. Electrolytic interrupters. AKTIEBOLAGET HAKANSSONS INDUSTRIER. Feb. 17, 1947, No. 4599. Convention date, March 30, 1946. [Class 38(v)] In a low-frequency electrolytic interrupter suitable for mains-energized electric fences, the electrode 6, surrounds the electrode 5, forming a chamber to trap the explosive gas mixture, such as oxygen and hydrogen, evolved during electrolysis whereby the electrolyte is displaced until a spark occurs between the inner electrode 5 and the electrolyte. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that (a) the mechanical reaction when the gas detonates may be utilized in various connections; (b) a catylist such as spongy platinum may be uncovered by the falling electrolyte to ignite the gases; (c) the gas may be trapped in the middle bend of a W-shaped tube (Fig. 4, cancelled, not shown). This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
