Abstract
An arc discharge lamp contains an oxide-coated electrode, the core of which consists of an alloy consisting of not less than 10 per cent, preferably 50 per cent, by weight of each of tungsten and molybdenum. The alloy may be produced by pressing and sintering a mixture of metal powders, or by reducing the mixed oxides in hydrogen.
