621,463. Air guns. LAWRENCE, A., and LASZLO, S. E. Feb. 13, 1947, No. 17381/48. Convention date, Feb. 28, 1946. Divided out of 621,417. [Class 119] The trigger 55 on an air gun acts upon a loaded sear 65 to release it from retaining means, the sear thereupon acting independently of the trigger to effect the release of a sear '61 from its holding engagement with the spring- loaded piston 26. The sear 65 of the construction shown has a slot 69 for the reception of its pivot pin 67 and is urged anticlockwise by a spring 73 to a position in which its nose 75 bears on a plate 66. On pulling the trigger the sear 65 is moved rearwardly on the pin 67 and thus releases the nose 75 from the plate 66. The sear now pivots on its pin and in doing so engages with an arm 71 of the sear 61 to release the latter from the piston. The sear 65 when released from the plate 66 is urged into contact with a pin 77 which, by contacting a cam surface 79 of the sear, urges the sear to a position where it will once again be engaged by the plate 66, to compress the spring 73, when the barrel is swung about its pivot 14 and returned to the position shown for re-cocking purposes.
