Abstract

620,239. Drying by radiant heat. FRIEDMAN, L., and CHANDLER, D. Jan. 10, 1947, No. 931. [Class 34(ii)] Articles to be dried are subjected to radiant heat from gas-heated panels 5 containing gas jets 8 connected to a gas line 7, and are also heated by circulation of the products of combustion in the drying chamber from outlets 11. Air is supplied to the heating panels from a pipe 10 via branch pipes 10a, circulates through the drying chamber from outlets 11 to exhaust pipe 13, and is carried away by a flue 12. The articles may be carried through the drying chamber by a conveyer 14.
