Abstract
619,303. Tyre-pump connectors. HEPBURN, D. Feb. 24, 1947, No. 5352. [Class 99 (i)] In a tyre-pump connector of the type embodying a contractible rubber or like sleeve adapted to be compressed around the outside of the valve stem by operation of a pivoted clamp lever 12, the lever is carried by a pin 13 at least one end 15 of which is recessed or reduced in diameter and is engaged and located axially by an aperture 14 in the body 7 of the connector through which the pin can be entered on assembly or removed on disassembly. The aperture 14 is preferably of keyhole form through the larger part of which the pin can be passed while the smaller part is adapted to engage the reduced portion of the pin. Enlarged heads 16 (Fig. 4) may be provided on the pin. The recessed portions may be in the form of flats 17 (Fig. 5). The air inlet pipe is indicated at 10 (Fig. 3).
