Abstract

872,246. Pipe connectors. WALTERS & DOBSON Ltd. July 25, 1957 [Aug. 3, 1956], No. 24027/56. Class 99(1). In a tyre valve connector comprising a tubular body 2 longitudinally slotted at 10 to pivotably accommodate a lever operable cam to depress an axially slidable unit 16 in operative engagement with the tyre valve-engaging gland 8 for compressing the gland around the tyre-valve, the unit carrying a tyre valveunseating pin 26, the cam lever 22 has a portion of inverted U-shape providing limbs pivoted at 44 to the slotted part 10 of the body, and the pressure-gauge valve-conttrolled fluid outlet nipple is fitted to the unit 16 coaxial with the tubular fluid conveying outlet passage part. As shown, the closed end of the unit 16 has an aperture 52, and carries a spring loaded valve 34 seated against a packing ring 36.
