Abstract
618,012. Fusible cut-outs. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and BIGNELL, G. J. H. Oct. 14, 1946, No. 30557. [Class 38 (i)] To prevent accidentally touching live parts the co-operating contacts of a cartridge fuse link are shrouded in the fuse carrier 2 and in the base 1 which is recessed at 12 to receive part of the fuse. The base 1 is provided with live contacts 9 which are secured behind upstanding walls 10 forming the recess 12 of which end walls 11 project only slightly less than the depth of the carrier 2. The fuse 3 is mounted within the body of the carrier sb that the contacts 7 project slightly beyond the carrier walls which are located on the base by the walls 11. On removing the carrier, the contacts 7 are disconnected from the contacts 9 before leaving the protection of the walls 10. Specification 603,505 is referred to.
