Abstract

617,374. Clamps. SPEED TOOLS, Ltd., and MOORE, W. Sept. 27, 1946, No. 28926. [Class 61 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIV] A toggle device capable of being secured to a support for clamping a work-piece against a fixed member, comprises a base 1 having upstanding lugs 3, 10 to which are hinged at 6, 11 two links 5, 12 respectively, link 5 being hinged at 7 to one end of an operating lever 8, and link 12 being hinged at 13 to the operating lever intermediate hinge point 7 and the other end of the lever, the said lever being forked to receive link 12 between its limbs in the operative position. Link 5 carries an adjustable abutment 14 for bearing against the workpiece to be clamped. When lever 8 is in the dead-centre position, hinge points 7, 13, 11 are in alignment, and a stop 15 limits further movement of the lever.
