614,948. Surgical crutches. LAMB, T. June 3, 1946. No. 16794. Convention date, June 23, 1945. [Class 81 (ii)] [Also in Group VII] A crutch consists of a walking-stick unit 1 comprising a shaft 4 with upper handle 5 and demountable single limb crutch unit 2, the lower end of which is secured to the shaft 4 by means of the collar 11, the mid portion of which has drills 15, a selected one of which takes a bolt 16 whereby it is secured to the free end of the handle 5, and the upper end of which has a shoulder piece 14. The length of the walking stick unit may be varied by adjusting a rod (not shown) extensible with the shaft 4. The crutch shoulder support is interchangeable with similar upper and lower arm supports (not shown) which, however, are made in tubular sections connected by adjustable joints and having adjustable arm rests.
