Abstract

614,133. Upholstery. GODFREY, H. F. July 9, 1946, Nos. 20454 and 28779. [Class 52 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXII] Spring fillings for upholstery having spring elements comprising lengths of resilient sheet material bent so as each to present a horizontal surface, the horizontal surfaces being co-planar, are arranged so that each element is connected with or so closely spaced in relation to the elements adjacent its sides that when the spring upholstery is loaded an edge of the horizontal surface of one element cannot project above the surface of an adjacent element. Several forms of spring elements [see Group XXXII] are described and as shown spring elements formed from a length of sheet material with their vertical parts 1d connected together through resilient buffers 3 are closely spaced in adjacent rows in a staggered manner, the rows being inter-connected by wire links 5. Upholstery pads 6 are provided.
