Abstract

613,954. Travelling grates. MORTON, L. April 17, 1946, No. 11914. [Class 51 (i)] Alternate drop links threaded on carrier bars of a travelling grate have projections a+ and ribs b cooperating as shown, the links a having their eyes so formed as to allow them to rock on the carrier bars to a greater extent than the other links. Each link is preferably provided with baffles around and spaced from its eye to provide air channels as described in Specification 566,717, and shallow air grooves are formed on the sides and top surfaces of both types of link.
